Hon.MCE Of East Gonja Municipal Encounter With India High Commissioner

Today, the 5th day of April, 2023, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of East Gonja Municipal Assembly, met with the India High Commissioner in Ghana and the deputy Chief Executive Officer for Ghana Tourism Authority both in Accra, on issues pertaining to the development of the Municipality.

At the Indian High Commission, the Hon. MCE appeled for Scholarship package for qualified but interested persons in the Municipality to further their Education in India. He also appealed for subsidised farm implements among others, to boost Agric in the Municipality.

The Indian High Commissioner, HE Sugandh Rajaram, thanked the people of East Gonja for the initiative to partner the India on exchange programmes. He called on interested individuals in the Municipality to apply online for their short programme and rought copies of their print outs through the Hon. MCE to his outfit for approval. He accepted the Hon. MCE’s invitation to visit the Municipality to withness the beautiful culture of the people of the area.

At Ghana Tourism Authority, the Hon. MCE made a strong appeal for the development of the tourist sites in and around Salaga and in his remarks, the deputy CEO for Tourism, Mr. Ekow Sampson, thanked the Hon. MCE for his singular interest in the development of the Tourism sector in the Municipality and assured him his commitment to include the development of the Salaga Slave tourist site in their 2023 procurement plan, under the tourism development fund.

The deputy CEO promised the Hon. MCE that, the package will include; reception, rest room, museum, office space at the Slave market with a beautiful land mark at the “Wakanabai”. He however used the opportunity and admonished the people in authority to as a matter of agency, protect all the heritage sites in the Municipality for prosperity.

HON. RICHARD BRONI PAID OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE AMBASSADOR OF KOREA

The Municipal Chief Executive of East Gonja Municipal Assembly, Hon. Richard Broni, paid a working visit to the Ambassador of Korea at the Embassy of Korea Republic on the 13th day of April, 2023 in Accra.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss pertinent issues across all the sectors of the local economy including tourism.

The Hon. MCE revealed to His Excellency the Ambassador that East Gonja Municipality is one of the peaceful  but deprived Municipalities in the country with vast land and that, Management of the Assembly will not hesitate in partnering with Korea development partners as well as investors in order to guarantee better futures of the good people of the area.

HON. RICHARD BRONI's ENGAGEMENT WITH MOROCCO AMBASSADOR IN GHANA

Today, the 4th day of April, 2023, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive of East Gonja Municipal Assembly, held bilateral discussion with the Ambassador of Morocco at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Accra.

The discussion, which covered all the sectors of the economy, centered on how the East Gonja Municipality will partner the Morocco people on exchange programmes that will better the lives of the good people of the Municipality.

The Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, used the opportunity to officially invite the Ambassador of Morocco to the Municipality to have a feel of the beautiful tourist attractions in Salaga and other communities of the Municipality.

In her remarks, the Ambassador called for a comprehensive situational document on the entire Municipality for onward submisson to leadership of the Morocco people for deliberation and possible approval. She also promised visiting the Municipality to withness the beautiful culture of the people of the area.
